I had a prostate procedure that injured my sphincter making me largely incontinent. The Dr. recommended I use Depends Guards pads. I tried ’em for a month, but found that I experienced frequent overflows, wet pants, etc., causing great anxiety and reluctance to travel, go to meetings, even to have dinner out!
Desperately searching the internet, I found these condom catheters. Printed out and cut out the measuring template, Ordered samples as well as the leg collection bag. Attached it all as directed (including hair removal, altho I don’t have much hair due to radiation). WOW!! I just can’t say enuf about the relief from anxiety that I’ve experienced. I keep it on day-n-night, substituting a floor bag at night.
THE QUESTION: I cannot find anywhere in the product descriptions what is the maximum recommended wearing time. The literature says “totally breathable” for the silicone (NOT latex) product. I’ve had it “on” for several days and nights, experience absolutely no discomfort, no itching, and looking through the clear silicon, I see no skin discoloration. The adhesive bonding still seems just like the moment I put it on; no slippage nor blow-off at all. So, I’m wondering, WHAT IS THE ‘PER USAGE’ TIME LIMIT FOR A SINGLE APPLICATION for this really great product? Is 12 hours the max. recommended time; or is it 24 hours continuous use; or is it 3 days?
And, a SECOND QUESTION: what is the recommended time interval between uses? That is, after I’ve worn it for the recommended time and take it off, HOW LONG SHOULD I GO WITHOUT IT so that I avoid any ‘length of wear’ complications, such as skin irritation, infection, ect.
Again, I am just ecstatic having used this product for the first time; everything is working beautifully. So much better than the pads! Please, someone, provide answers to my questions.

Like most men, as I have aged I had to go to the restroom more frequently. Taking prostate medicine and though the stream improved and I could go about 2 -3 hrs. between bathroom trips, that experience conditioned me to have a nervous bladder. Going to strange places or high stress situations where I don’t know where a restroom is located or where I will be restricted in my ability to freely get to a bathroom will reduce this time. Mostly psychological I know, but hard to deal with and it had affected my habits and I was beginning to avoid travel and other fun activities. Was even a factor in my early retirement as I was having a difficult time making it through long meetings and work related travel.
So, bought the stadium pal before a trip to Europe as I was dreading both the plane, airport and local towns where restrooms are not as available as in the US. This completely transformed my trip. I still used the restroom/never had to urinate into this, but knowing I had it got me past those situations because I knew I had this as a back-up.
On the plane, the seat belt light stayed on for almost 3 hrs and I was able to make it wearing this as insurance. It was nice to have on trains as well. When in towns I’d wear it out on walk the first day until I found public restrooms then the following days I did not need it. All in all, I probably have walked close to 20 miles wearing this. I would add water occasionally to confirm I hadn’t damage it and so far it still is water-tight/perfect.
Most recently I wore it to the dentist’s office as something about that also increase the urge to go – this made it a non-issue. Again, I have not actually had to use this, but knowing it is there as a back-up has allowed me to enjoy many of my normal activities again. I’d highly recommend it !

before applying the device, I make sure that hair in and around the shaft has been removed (razor), then the removal process, I use a alcohol based surgical foam that seems to cut the glue and free up the glue on the foreskin.

I use it mainly for theatre and extended trips. It is easy to apply, but i do have a little trouble removing the catheter, but that is better than having it come off by itself. The instructions leave out one important step, remove any hair on the penis shaft before applying. It makes removal less painful.

I just assumed the diameter listed was the inside diameter..that’s the dimension that counts, not the outside diameter. Now I have 50 caths that I cannot use while recovering from prostate radiation treatment.

I’ve used this product three times. The first time it worked well until the condom came off–wrong size. The next two times it functioned perfectly. What a relief! I wish I’d known about this product earlier. It saved numerous trips to the bathroom when that would have been inconvenient or impossible.

Good product but it didn’t work for me. I got it to use at work as I rarely get restroom breaks. My penis is such that the head retracts inward (dont know the medical term for this) leaving foreskin very loose and the product is then attached to this loose foreskin and when urinating it doesn’t feel like it will stay on. The concept is great, but I need something else as I cant risk having it come off causing a MESS.

These catheters are much thinner than the others I tried, are easier to put on, adhere really well. They are a little more difficult to remove because they are so thin and adhere so well. My husband wears them at night only, so we haven’t noticed any irritation. There has not been an incident in which the catheter slipped off in the middle of the night.
