It is Necessary for the Brondell Swash to be plugged into a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interupt) outlet. The GFCI outlet is generally required in bathrooms and near sources of water. A typically Swash user will have an outlet within four feet of the toilet fixture; also the option of running an extension cord is also an acceptable alternative.
